This is the first of my pandemic-era recordings to be released. A huge part of jazz music is interacting with the musicians around you. Being unable to get together and play with other musicians this past year, I decided to write some things that would be a little more densely arranged, with much more in the way of composed ensemble background parts to make up for the fact that there wouldn't be the usual real-time interactivity amongst the players. This piece combines elements of classic big band arranging, samba rhythms, contemporary classical composition, and odd meter fusion.
